i seriously don’t understand the concept of drama after middle school. cosmetology school is more laid back, i get that, but there is no need to act like 12 year olds in college. i’m not singling anyone out. i’ve had my problems with a few people and i’m letting that go, but now teachers are not only starting shit, but dragging other people into their shit. you’re supposed to be teaching us, giving us an education so that we can go out there and succeed… cut the shit, for real.

i have about 6 weeks left and we’re spending the majority of our time fighting when there are services to finish, hours to make up, projects to work on and exams to study for. i just can’t stand it anymore. i literally HATE going to school.

6 weeks, 6 weeks… just 6 more weeks.

well, class was… different tonight. we had the “2nd in command” come in to explain to us how the last 2 months of our program would work. at first, we all thought she’d be a major bitch, but she was actually pretty cool. pretty much, from now until october 15th, we’ll be spending tuesdays and thursdays in the classroom going over everything we learned in theory. it’s pretty much just going to prep us for the state board. once our next semester starts (october 16th), we’ll be going over job prep and law, as well as spending time on theory and practical. it’s not going to be a complete blast doing bookwork again, but i’m so glad it’s coming close to time to finish up.

i need 155 styles and 35 chemical services. it sounds like a lot, and it is compared to a lot of other people in my class, but i can whip out a good 20 services in a night, so i’m not really worried. i do, however, need to start making up hours in the daytime. as soon as this cold/bronchitis is gone, my ass is going to be busy.

i recently went through my cosmetology bag and found a brand new comb-out cape and 2 long cutting combs that i’ve never used. instead of trashing them, i thought i’d give some fellow cosmo students the chance to win them.

class tonight was pretty decent. i got a lot done. 2 cuts, 2 scalp treatments, 4 shampoos and 8 styles. 16 is more than the 10 services i did yesterday! thank god for not having to take clients anymore. i might actually have everything done in time if things keep up this way.

first thing i did when i got to class was pull out the styling wand and curly my hair. i haven’t been able to curl it for a while, but it’s FINALLY long enough. yay! ignore my unmade, tired face.

i also played around with brittany’s hair tonight. i got about 4 styles done on her all together. this was just one of them. now that i know how to attempt a waterfall braid, i’m really loving it. i just need to figure out how to do it without all of the hair on the right side sticking up. anyone have a good, explanatory youtube video for me? it’s obviously not my best work, but i have to use that hair for something, so i just braid it all in and end up with 3 braids all together. it works!

tomorrow morning i’m taking a friend to the doctor and then we both have to deal with scheduling/payment issues at the school so afterwards, we’re going to make up a few extra hours before class starts at 5. it’ll be a busy day, but i’m kind of looking forward to it.

thank you! i know from experience that it’s really nice meeting someone who likes doing the same things as you. half the girls i go to school with are into cornrows and overdone pageant curls. it’s kind of boring.
